It's almost Mother's Day and we have some last minute gifts that will be sure to make her smile. Be sure to add a card or a hand written note to show her how much you love her.

Hand Made With Love

Treats: Mom always loves a home made treat. Cupcake, cookie or maybe just some ice cream with her favorite toppings.

Breakfast in Bed: Mom would love a little breakfast in bed. Toast with strawberries, or Peanut Butter toast with banana for some simple ideas or you can get fancy with scrambled eggs and bacon. Choose something your mom loves and is easy to make.

Draw a picture: Pick something your mom loves and do your best to draw it. Don't worry about being perfect because mom will love it and cherish it forever. Draw your cat or dog, maybe a flower or sunrise. There's no limit to your imagination and she will love it forever!

Get Crafty: Buy a kit or make something our of some of the craft goods you have in your home. Look to see if you have craft items you can use to make cards, flowers, anything creative. Mom's love this! It shows you took the time to think of her and it shows how creative you are. Kits are wonderful if you want to create something and are nervous you aren't creative enough - but trust me, mom's love seeing something you create yourself.

Crochet: If you are a crochet star, you could create a crochet eye glasses case, small purse or possibly a flower.

Clay: You can make anything out of clay. They have air dry clay that is perfect for all ages and you can create something special for mom. I still have some small trays my daughter made for me with air dry clay that I use every day. Use your imagination. Trays are great as catch almost anything but a bowl, figurine or small bouquet of flowers in a vase would be wonderful!

Personalized handmade gift certificates: These are amazing to get! I have gotten some great ones. Think of what your mom loves. Then get a few strips of paper and make a booklet! Offer a free foot rub, back rub, doing dishes, taking out the trash, watching her favorite show, use your imagination. My daughter gave be a booklet full of "Get A Free Ice Cream Cone on $1.99 day. It was the coolest way to spend time with her where she felt proud to buy me something and we got to share one on one time.

Flowers: You can get a wide variety of flowers for Mom. She will love them! Don't limit yourself to roses. Carnations are beautiful and last a long time. Consider what your mom likes too. Does she enjoy having a bouquet on the table or would she like to plant a flower or any plant in the yard, garden or in a pot that she can put outside in the summer and bring in through the winter and enjoy.

Candy: Does your mom sneak your gummies? Get her some of her own! Chocolate is usually a hit. You can get all kinds of treats mom may like, just be observant and see what she likes.

Gift Certificate: Mom may not be into sweets but she may be into getting something at a discount. Get her a gift certificate for her favorite place to go. Maybe she loves to shop a garden store. Is she into sports? Find a store that sells her favorite team's merch and get her a gift card.

Classic Gifts:

Handprint and footprint anything!: Mom (and dad) love keepsakes. You can find so many wonderful ideas that incorporate handprints and/or footprints in art. Plus there are so many ways to capture the little feet and hands. One fun idea I have seen is where there was a handprint through time. Grandma took a regular frame from a craft store, removed all the backing and added the words " Katy From Birth To Graduation" at the very top of a plain white paper. On the glass side, she took paint and put a layer of paint on Katy's hand and pressed it onto the glass. Every year she would put another handprint in a different color on top of the previous handprint until Katy graduated. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.  Mom then made a card from copying the handprints onto paper and gave it to Katy as a graduation card.

Cards: From a sketchy to mom with a dog drawn on the front to a masterpiece of a vase of flowers. Mom's keep the cards we get them. Handmade or store bought.

Chocolates/Candy: These are always a hit. Especially if she shares with you!

Flowers: Any kind, paper origami, a drawing on paper, or a bouquet on the table will make her smile.
