Celebrate July Loveland Parks & Rec Month Build Together Play Together

This July, the City of Loveland is proud to join the nationwide celebration of Parks & Recreation Month with the theme “Build Together, Play Together.” 

Our parks, trails, facilities, and recreation programs play a vital role in creating vibrant, healthy communities—and this month we're showcasing how Loveland Parks & Recreation brings people together, provides essential services, and fosters personal and community growth.

Throughout July, we’ll offer a full calendar of exciting events and activities for all ages and interests. Some events may require fees or pre-registration.

Featured Events:

  • Thursday, July 10 – Full Moon Bike Ride | 8:00–9:30 PM | $8  - Ride Loveland’s Recreation Trail by moonlight on a guided tour. Bring your own bike, water, and wear reflective/light-colored clothing. Helmets required.
  • Saturday, July 12 – Astronomy Night at Prairie Ridge Natural Area | 9:30 PM | FREE - (Registration Required) Gaze at the stars and planets over the Rockies with telescopes provided. Register at offero.cityofloveland.org.
  • Sunday, July 13 – Loveland Farmers Market at Fairgrounds Park | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM - Share what you love about Loveland Parks & Recreation with sidewalk chalk art! Plus, explore the Trek the Thompson experience nearby.
  • Monday, July 14 – Batting Cages at Barnes Softball Complex | 5:15–8:00 PM - Take a swing at baseball & softball stations. Bats and helmets provided. $1 tokens (limit 5 per customer) and 20% off cage rentals.
  • Tuesday, July 15 – Pool Party at Winona Outdoor Pool | 6:00–8:00 - PM  -First 200 guests swim FREE! Enjoy a live DJ, swimming, and yard games with family and friends.
  • Wednesday, July 16 – Train Rides at North Lake Park | 12:00–8:00 PM - Ride the Buckhorn Northern Railroad replica for FREE—a fun treat for all ages!
  • Thursday, July 17 – SNAG Golf at Cattail Creek Golf Course | 5:00–7:00 PM | FREE - Try SNAG (Starting New At Golf) with the family—perfect for beginners!
  • Friday, July 18 – Morning Yoga at Mehaffey Park (South Entrance) | 8:00 AM | FREE - Enjoy a gentle outdoor yoga class. Please bring your own mat and water.
  • Thursday, July 24 – Bats by the River: Natural Areas After Dark | 8:30–9:30 PM | FREE - (Registration Required) Learn about bats with a slide show, activities, and a guided walk. Register at offero.cityofloveland.org.
  • Saturday, July 26 – GPS Family Treasure Hunt | Time: 2 morning sessions | Registration Required; $49 Fee per team of 5 Embark on an exciting geocaching adventure at Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park. One fee covers up to five participants. GPS training provided.
  • Thursday, July 31 – Chilson Summer Party | 4:00–6:00 PM | FREE - Celebrate summer with the Mobile Recreation Trailer, popsicles, photo booth fun, merchandise sales, and your last chance to submit coloring sheets for the contest!
