Hope Begins at Home: Loveland Habitat Builds More Than Houses

By Christine K. Forster CEO, Purveyor of Passions BIG DEAL Company December 3, 2025

For the people served by Loveland Habitat for Humanity,

a home is more than a roof over their heads—

it’s the foundation for a healthier, more stable, and more hopeful life.

As the year draws to a close, Loveland Habitat is inviting the community to be part of that transformation through year-end giving, including early giving for Colorado Gives Day (now through December 9).

With 1 in 4 Loveland households struggling to afford housing, the need has never been greater. Loveland Habitat partners with Lovelanders—our neighbors, friends, and coworkers— to make affordable homeownership possible through no-interest mortgages, sweat equity, and financial education. This partnership helps people break the cycle of generational poverty and build brighter, more stable futures.

The people who qualify for Loveland Habitat’s homeownership program are the same people who keep our city running — First Responders, Teachers, Electricians, Auto Mechanics, Social Workers, Restaurant Managers, Lab Technicians, Bank Tellers, and many more. Most of these essential workers cannot reasonably afford a home in the community they serve. Loveland Habitat for Humanity is working to change that.

“I imagine a forever home where I will spend the rest of my life, where my son can grow up in a stable environment. A home that my future grandchildren will always know as ‘Grandma’s home.”

- Future Homeowner, Loveland Habitat

Since 1987, Loveland Habitat for Humanity has built 178 homes. Each one is a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together to invest in one another. The impact of affordable housing extends far beyond the individuals served. It strengthens local schools, supports the economy, and creates neighborhoods where everyone can thrive.

Colorado Gives Day: A Chance to Multiply Your Impact

Now through December 9, donors have a powerful opportunity to support Loveland Habitat for Humanity:

  • All donations are boosted by a $1 million+ Incentive Fund through the Colorado Gives Foundation
  • First-time monthly gifts will be matched up to $100, thanks to the Colorado Gives Foundation (with $250,000 available statewide).
